Why Basketball?

I wasn’t a big basketball player until my sophomore or junior year of high school. I just kept growing taller and taller and I loved to shoot the ball. Because of that I decided that’s what I wanted to do. I stuck to it and with a lot of support from my family and friends I’ve been able to develop.

Why do you love basketball?

It’s pretty much my life nowadays. If I’m not in school I’m in the gym and I love it. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Basketball is something that can distract me from anything else that’s going on and it lets me relax.

Best family basketball memory?

Just about every Saturday growing out my dad and I would go out on the carport — we had a basketball hoop set up out there — and we’d play after we did the yard work. We’d play a little one-on-one or horse and play until he usually would collapse and couldn’t go any longer. Then we’d go to a local pizza place and enjoy some pizza.

Any advice for young players?

Just don’t stop. Just do whatever it takes and work as hard as you can. Obviously remember everything that’s most important to you in your life and your values and morals. But work as hard as you can to get here and you will.
