Tavernari and Miles Sign Professional Contracts

PROVO -- Former Cougars Jonathan Tavernari and Chris Miles have signed contracts to play professionally overseas. Tavernari signed a three-year contract with Pallacanestro Angelico Biella in Italy while Miles signed with BC Kolin in the Czech Republic.

Pallacanestro Angelico Biella plays in Lega Basket Serie A — the highest professional league in Italy. BC Kolin is a member of Mattoni NBL (the Czech League).

Tavernari concluded his BYU career in 2010 as the program’s all-time leader in made three-pointers and was a three-time conference champion. He also earned All-MWC Third Team honors as a sophomore, junior and senior and was the MWC Freshman of the Year in 2007 and the MWC Sixth Man of the Year in 2010.

Miles was a two-year starter and helped the Cougars to two MWC titles. An athletic 6-foot-11 center, Miles was an imposing defensive presence for BYU. He averaged 4.2 points and 2.8 rebounds for his career.
