By the Numbers: Cougars Post High Marks vs. Nevada, EWU

BYU has posted some impressive numbers over the past two games, a 91-34 home win over Eastern Washington and a 110-104 victory over Nevada at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.

BYU 110, Nevada 104

-Most points scored since 2005 against Montana State Billings (110-70) and most against an NCAA Division I school since 1995 (110-69 vs. Morgan State)

-First game in which BYU and its opponent eclipsed 100 points since Dec. 19, 1987, a 121-112 overtime win over Utah State

-First game that ended in regulation in which BYU and its opponent eclipsed 100 points since a 110-119 loss at Oklahoma on Nov. 21, 1986

-First BYU win with both teams scoring 100-plus points in regulation since a 120-104 home win over Oral Roberts on Dec. 23, 1978

-The 110 points scored by the Cougars is tied for the 24th highest scoring game in team history

-The Cougars shot .633 (38-60) from the field — including .677 (21-31) in the second half

-The Cougars started the game 12-of-14 from the field and made 10-straight field goal attempts

-BYU hit 27-of-28 from the free throw line for 96.4 percent, a single-game record when the Cougars have at least 20 attempts from the line

-BYU hit 18-straight games, including the final two of the first half and all 16 attempts in the second half

-Jimmer Fredette scored a career-high 33 points — the most points by a Cougar since Keena Young scored 34 points at UNLV on March 10, 2007 — on 11-of-16 shooting from the field and 9-of-9 shooting from the free throw line

-Fredette eclipsed the 1,000-point mark on a three with 10:04 remaining in the game and now has 1,010 career points

-Jackson Emery set a career high with 25 points on 8-of-12 shooting and 5-of-7 shooting from three, his third game this season with five treys

-Tyler Haws hit 7-of-7 from the field and 6-of-6 from the free throw line for a career-high 20 points

-Haws has now hit 19-straight free throws and Fredette has 14 attempts without a miss

BYU 91, Eastern Washington 34

-The 57-point margin of victory is the third largest in school history and the largest against an NCAA Division I team, breaking the record set earlier in the season in a 107-51 win over Southern

-After falling behind 2-0, BYU scored the next 33 points to lead 33-2, the biggest run by a Dave Rose coached Cougar team

-The Cougars led Eastern Washington 55-14 at the half for a 41-point lead, the biggest halftime lead by a Dave Rose coached team

-BYU shot 68.8 (22-32) percent in the first half, the best shooting half this season and the best since hitting 72.4 percent in the first half against Colorado State at home last season

-The 34 points scored by Eastern Washington are the fewest scored by a Cougar opponent since a 74-34 win over Long Beach State to open the 2007-08 season

-BYU out-rebounded Eastern Washington 45-17

-The Cougars held Eastern Washington to 27.1 percent shooting, the lowest field goal percentage by an opponent since Long Beach State shot 19.1 percent in the 2007-08 season opener

-Jimmer Fredette scored 20 points in 22 minutes on 7-of-14 shooting from the field and 5-of-5 shooting from the free throw line

-Tyler Haws hit 5-of-6 from the field and 2-of-2 from downtown for 14 points to go with three steals

-Jackson Emery hit 6-of-7 from the field and 2-of-3 from three for 15 points to go with seven boards, four assists and three steals

-Brandon Davies was 5-of-5 from the field for a career-high 12 points

Two Game Totals

-The 201 points in the two games is the most over a two-game stretch since the 1992-93 season when the Cougars had 226 in wins over Air Force (98-80) and Sacramento State (128-78) on Feb. 20 and 25, 1993.

-Fredette shot .600 (18-30) from the field and 1.000 (14-14) from the free throw line and averaged 26.5 points, 6.0 assists and 2.5 steals

-Jackson Emery shot .737 (14-19) from the field and .700 (7-10) from three and averaged 20.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.0 steals

-Tyler Haws shot .923 (12-13) from the field and 1.000 on threes (2-2) and from the free throw line (8-8) while averaging 17.0 points and 5.0 rebounds

-Brandon Davies shot .800 (8-10) from the field and averaged 10.0 points
