Player Notes

— After making his first four free throws on the night, Jimmer Fredette missed his fifth, ending his consecutive free throw streak at 39, a new BYU record. Fredette is now 52 for his last 54.

— Noah Hartsock was one point away from his first career double-double with 9 points and 11 rebounds.

— Hartsock’s 11 rebounds are a new career-high. His previous high was 7 boards, accomplished twice.

— Fredette posted 7 assists, his sixth of nine games and third-straight with 5 or more. He leads the team with 5.8 apg, second-best in the MWC.

— Fredette 18 points in the second half, shooting 6-of-10 from the field. He finished with 24 points on 8-of-16, including 4-of-8 from three.

"It was a really competitive game. It wasn't the cleanest game but I think that's because both teams were really trying to compete."

On zone defenses: "It was a little different for us with the zone they were in; it made us shoot early. We were just a little sunsettled in the first half. We went to the zone late and I thought it gave us a couple steals and got us out in transition and some easy baskets."

On Chris Miles: "Man he played hard, he played really hard. He is getting more to where he feels more comfortable. We needed him in the game tonight against their big post players."

On Noah Hartsock: "Noah was really active in there and got his hands on a lot of balls. We're playing him a lot more minutes. It's really, really important that you keep that intes. That's a young player and he's getting better and that's good for our team."
