BYUCougars.com: What was the hardest thing about coming off a mission to play basketball (Hartsock returned from his mission to Salt Lake City in July 2008)? What is something you learned on your mission that has made you a better basketball player?

NH: The hardest thing would have to be getting back in shape. It took a while for that to happen. On my mission I learned a lot about being patient and just working hard. If you do those things what ever you are working for will eventually come to you.

BYUCougars.com: What is the biggest difference between high school basketball and college basketball?

NH: Probably getting used to teammates that are able to play at a higher level. In high school everyone on our team was the go to guy. Here you just have to adjust to that and find everyone’s strong points and learn to play together so you can become a great team.

BYUCougars.com: What is something you are working on this summer?

NH: I’m working on being more aggressive in my all around game.

BYUCougars.com: If you could play another sport at BYU, what would it be and why?

NH: I would play on the golf team. I just like the idea of free golf everyday.

BYUCougars.com: You finished the season strong with a couple of big games. What contributed to the strong finish?

NH: I just started feeling more confident and getting use to the style of play.

BYUCougars.com: What are your goals for the upcoming season?

NH: I hope to keep contributing any way I can and to help us win a fourth straight MWC championship.

BYUCougars.com: Where do you get your motivation as a basketball player?

NH: From my brothers. We always competed when we were younger and I still want to one up them even now.

BYUCougars.com: What are some of your hidden talents off the court?

NH: I am a good bowler and tennis player.
