PROVO -- BYU senior Lee Cummard has accepted an invitation to play for the Phoenix Suns 2009 NBA Summer League team. The team will include current members of the Phoenix Suns and will potentially include 2009 draft picks Earl Clark (1st round, 14th overall) and Taylor Griffin (2nd round, 48th overall).

“I’m really excited to be playing,” Cummard said. “It’s a great opportunity to prove what I can do against great competition. The Suns are a great organization and I look forward to getting started.”

Cummard was a two-time Mountain West Conference First Team honoree and the 2008 MWC Player of the Year. In his four years at BYU the Cougars were 97-34 overall and 51-13 in conference play. BYU made three-straight trips to the NCAA Tournament (2007-09) and won three-straight MWC regular season titles (2007-09).

The 2009 NBA Summer League will take place at the Thomas & Mack Center and COX Pavilion in Las Vegas from July 10-19. For rosters, schedules, results and ticket information, CLICK HERE.
