BYU Men's Basketball Plays Final Exhibition Tuesday Against EA Sports Team

PROVO -- The BYU men's basketball team will play its final exhibition game Tuesday when it hosts EA Sports at 7 p.m. in the Marriott Center.

The Cougars defeated the Nunawading Spectres from Melbourne, Australia, 93-47 in their first exhibition game last week. Three Cougars scored in double digits with Mekeli Wesley leading all scorers with 20 points. For the game, 12 different Cougars got in the scoring column.

EA Sports, a team made up of former college players, promises to be a much tougher opponent for the Cougars as they prepare for their regular season opener Saturday against UC Riverside. EA Sports, comes to Provo with a 1-2 record after defeating St. Mary's College (68-60 on Nov. 4), and losing to California (76-74 on Nov. 8) and Fresno State (78-69 on Nov. 9).

Several familiar names are on the EA Sports roster, including San Jose State's Michael Quinney and Hawai'i's Walter Bonner. Cougar fans might remember Quinney as the Spartan who scored 26 points and hit several clutch three-pointers down the stretch to help San Jose State defeat BYU in overtime last year 76-74. The team also includes California's Thomas Kilgore and Anwar McQueen.

The game will not be broadcast on radio or television.
