Morgan Smith Transfers to UVSC

PROVO -- Reserve guard Morgan Smith has decided to transfer from BYU to attend Utah Valley State College.

"Morgan felt it was in his best interest to have a chance to play and develop his game at the community college level," BYU coach Steve Cleveland said. "I wish him the best and we will follow him closely. He is a very good mid-range offensive player and is one of the finest young men I have ever coached. He's just a great kid. He will be a good addition for Coach Reinert."

Smith, a 6-5 freshman, is a returned LDS Church missionary. After returning from his mission, he played 13 minutes in five games this year for BYU and averaged 1.2 points per game.
