Wesley and Bobik lead Cougars past Team Reebok, 99-62.

In an exhibition game on Saturday night, five Cougar players scored in double figures as BYU defeated Team Reebok, 99-62.

Mekeli Wesley had 18 points to lead the Cougars, followed by freshman guard Daniel Bobik, with 17, including three three-pointers. Terrell Lyday and Nathan Cooper each had three three-pointer as well, scoring 15 and 13 points respectively and Jacob Chrisman added 13 points.

Team Reebok from St. Louis, made up of ex-college players, came within 11 points early in the second half, but that was as close as they would get as BYU outscored Team Reebok by a score of 57-31 to finish out the second half.

The Cougars started off a little slow offensively, scoring only seven points in the first six minutes, but Bobik's back-to-back three-pointers from each corner with 13:29 remaining in the first half ignited the Cougars.

In the second half, BYU fans may have received a bit of a scare when senior Terrell Lyday went up for a dunk and was brought down hard by Team Reebok's Tyrone Bell. Lyday made both of the flagrant foul free throws to put BYU up by 21.

As a team, the Cougars shot 57% from the field, including 48% from the three-point line. BYU was 6-9 from behind the arc in the second half and shot 75% from the free throw line.

Also contributing for the Cougars was Travis Hansen with seven points, Derek Dawes with five, Dan Howard with four, Jordan Archibald with three and Ty Shippen and Eric Nielsen each had two.

BYU will next play EA Sports in another exhibition game on November 16 at the Marriott Center.
