BYU Faces California East All-Stars in Final Exhibition Thursday

PROVO -- Coming off its 99-62 exhibition win Saturday, the BYU men's basketball team will play its final exhibition game Thursday when it faces the EA Sports/California East All-Stars at 7 p.m. in the Marriott Center.

The California East All-Stars team is made up of former college players, including former BYU and Michigan guard Robbie Reid. The All-Stars, who are 2-4 entering a game with Wyoming Tuesday, will finish their eight-game schedule against BYU Thursday. The All-Stars schedule has also included Rutgers, Princeton, Temple, George Washington, Pittsburgh and Texas Tech.

In its exhibition opener, BYU shot 57 percent from the floor and 48 percent on three-point shots while handily defeating Team Reebok. Senior Mekeli Wesley led the Cougars with 18 points, followed by freshman Daniel Bobik with 17 and senior Terrell Lyday with 15.

Thursday's exhibition is the final tune-up for the Cougars before they open their 2000-01 regular season Tuesday at home against Elon College.
