Traore named to CSC Academic All-District team
PROVO, Utah – BYU sophomore Fousseyni Traore was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team on Tuesday morning.
To be eligible, a student-athlete must have completed one full calendar year at his current institution and is at least a sophomore academically and athletically. He must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average at his current institution. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of team’s game.
Traore, a native of Bamako, Mali, is a business major and carries a 3.68 GPA. On the court, Traore is averaging team highs in 13.0 points and 7.8 rebounds per game while shooting 60.7percent from the field and 75.7 percent from the free-throw line. He is the program record holder in career field goal percentage in conference play as the 6-foot-6 forward is shooting 61.3 percent in 29 career league games.
Nationally, Traore ranks 22nd in the nation in field goal percentage, 61st in rebounds, 75th in double-doubles and 81st in offensive rebounds per game.
