SAN MATEO, Calif. – BYU’s Alex Barcello and Fousseyni Traore earned All-West Coast Conference recognition Wednesday, with Barcello earning first team honors for the second straight season and Traore being named to the All-WCC freshman team.

Barcello has established himself as one of the top 3-point shooters in the nation ranking fourth in the nation in 3-point percentage. The senior guard from Chandler, Ariz. is averaging 17.0 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists while shooting 45.7 percent from the field, 44.4 percent from 3-point range and 88.6 percent from the free throw line.

The program’s all-time leader in 3-point percentage, Barcello has scored in double figures 23 times this season including a career-high 33-point performance at Pepperdine. He went 9-of-10 from 3-point range, which is the second-most by a Cougar in a single game in program history.
