BYU to be featured in seven ESPN games

SAN MATEO, California — As part of its recently extended long-term relationship with ESPN, the West Coast Conference today announced 16 regular-season men's basketball conference games on ESPN Networks this season. ESPN will also broadcast an additional five games during the WCC Basketball Tournament in Las Vegas.

During the 2020-21 regular season, the WCC will be featured as part of ESPN’s Thursday night and Saturday coverage on ESPN, ESPN2, or ESPNU. The conference will also be featured on ESPN’s popular Championship Week coverage in early March, with five live telecasts from Las Vegas: two quarterfinal games (Saturday, March 6, ESPN2), the WCC semifinals (Monday, March 8, ESPN or ESPN2) and the championship game on Tuesday, March 9 (ESPN).

BYU will be featured in seven of the 16 regular-season ESPN broadcasts, including road games at Pepperdine (Dec. 31), Saint Mary’s (Jan. 14), San Francisco (Jan. 16) and Gonzaga (Feb. 6) and home matchups in the Marriott Center versus Pepperdine (Jan. 23), Saint Mary’s (Feb. 11) and the regular-season finale with preseason No. 1 ranked Gonzaga (Feb. 27).

The Bulldogs enter the 2020-21 season ranked No. 1 nationally for the first time in program history. Gonzaga becomes the first WCC team to enter the basketball season ranked atop the standings since the Bill Russell-led 1955-56 San Francisco Dons did so en route to their second consecutive NCAA title.

Game times and ESPN network designations will be released at a later date. All games aired on an ESPN network will also be available through the ESPN app, accessible on computers, smartphones, tablets and connected devices to fans that receive their video subscription from an affiliated provider.
