Childs named one of college basketball’s top 50 by Sports Illustrated
With the college basketball season having ended abruptly over concern of the spread of the novel coronavirus, Sports Illustrated has named its top 50 players from the 2019-20 men’s college basketball season.
BYU senior forward Yoeli Childs came in at No. 20 in a ranking that took stats, ‘talent level, importance to team, supporting cast, team success and any other unique circumstances’ into consideration. Childs helped the Cougars to a final ranking of No. 18 in the AP Poll and No. 16 in the USA Today Coaches Poll and a final record of 24-8.
The All-West Coast First Team honoree averaged 22.2 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists. He also earned USBWA All-District honors and is a Top 5 Finalist for the Karl Malone Power Forward of the Year Award.
