Cougars in the NBA Summer League

Three former Cougars participated in the 2019 NBA Summer League in California and Las Vegas. Elijah Bryant played for the Milwaukee Bucks, Jimmer Fredette with the Golden State Warriors and Eric Mika with the Sacramento Kings.

Elijah Bryant
Bryant appeared in four games with the Bucks in Las Vegas, averaging 14.3 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists while shooting 52.9 percent from the field, 50.0 percent from 3-point range and 83.3 percent from the free-throw line.

In the opener on July 5 against Philadelphia, Bryant posted seven points, three rebounds and a game-high eight assists. He also added a block, a steal and had just one turnover.

Against Minnesota on July 6, Bryant led all players with 31 points in 24 minutes. He hit 11 of 15 from the field and 5 of 7 from 3-point range while adding seven rebounds and two assists. Bryant wrapped up NBA Summer League with 15 points against Team China while hitting 10 of 11 from the free-throw line.

In 2018-19, Bryant played for Hapoel Mall Hayam Eilat in the Israel Basketball Super League where he averaged 17.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.4 steals.

Jimmer Fredette
Fredette appeared in two games for the Golden State Warriors in the California Classic and averaged 9.5 points and 3.5 rebounds.

In the opener against Sacramento he posted 14 points on 5 of 10 shooting while adding seven rebounds and one steal.

On July 15, Fredette signed with Panathinaikos BC in the Greek Basketball League and the EuroLeague. Last season, Panathinaikos swept through the Greek League playoffs to win a third-straight title while also advancing to the quarterfinals of the EuroLeague playoffs.

Fredette played the 2018-19 season in China averaging 35.5 points, 5.6 rebounds, 5.4 assists and 2.5 steals while shooting 47.4 percent from the field, 42.0 percent from 3-point range and 91.4 percent from the free-throw line. He finished the season in the NBA with the Phoenix Suns.

Eric Mika
Mika played in eight games for the Sacramento Kings and averaged 8.9 points, 7.9 rebounds and 1.3 assists while shooting 52.0 percent from the field and 61.3 percent from the free-throw line.

Mika posted back-to-back double-doubles with 13 points, 14 rebounds and one block against Miami and 10 points, 12 rebounds and two assists against the Lakers.

Over the next three games he had three near double-doubles against China (nine points, seven rebounds, three steals), Dallas (11 points, eight rebounds) and Houston (nine points, seven rebounds). Mika closed out Summer League with 15 points, shooting 5 of 6 shooting from both the field and free-throw line, while adding seven rebounds against Cleveland.

Mika played the 2018-19 season for Medi Bayreuth in the Germany-BBL and averaged 12.0 points and 5.0 rebounds while shooting 67.0 percent from the field and 81.0 percent from the free-throw line.
