BYU set to open exhibition play Wednesday vs. Saint Martin's

PROVO, Utah – BYU men’s basketball will host its first of two exhibitions when the Cougars face Saint Martin’s Wednesday at 7 p.m. MDT in the Marriott Center. The game will be televised live on BYUtv and broadcast on the BYU Sports Network on BYU Radio – Sirius XM 143, BYUcougars.com and KSL Newsradio 102.7 FM/1160 AM.

Fans got their first look at the 2018-19 squad in the annual Cougar Tipoff on Oct. 19. Yoeli Childs scored a game-high 35 points for the White team but the Blue squad came out on top 81-77. Four players scored in double figures for the Blue team, including Jahshire Hardnett and Luke Worthington posting 18 apiece, TJ Haws with 16 and Dalton Nixon with 12.

Saint Martin’s finished the 2017-18 season with a record of 25-8 overall and 15-5 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. The Saints received a bid to the NCAA Division II tournament and advanced to the second round. Head coach Alex Pribble welcomes the return of four of the top five scorers from last season, including senior guard Luke Chavez, who averaged 16.0 points and was named the GNAC Preseason Player of the Year heading into the 2018-19 campaign.
