Bryant and Childs named NABC All-District

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) has announced that BYU's Elijah Bryant and Yoeli Childs have been named to the 2017-18 NABC Division I All-District 9 team. Both players earned first-team honors.

The NABC All-District teams are selected and voted on by NCAA Division I member coaches. Both Bryant and Childs were also named to the All-West Coast Conference First Team at the end of the 2017-18 regular season.

Bryant, a junior guard from Gwinnett, Georgia, is second on the team in points (17.9), rebounds (6.2) and assists (2.3) per game and is first in steals (1.3) and 3-pointers (82). He owns shooting percentages of 49.1 percent from the field, 41.2 percent from 3-point range and 87.3 percent from the free-throw line.

A team captain, Bryant has 13 20-point games and season highs of 29 points, 15 rebounds, nine assists and four steals.

Childs, a sophomore forward from South Jordan, Utah, leads the Cougars in points (18.0), rebounds (8.6) and blocks (1.9) per game. He also adds 2.2 assists per contest and shoots 54.8 percent from the field.

Childs has season highs of 33 points, 13 rebounds, eight assists, four steals and five blocks. In addition to the NABC and All-WCC honors, Childs also earned all-district recognition from the United States Basketball Writers Association.
