Fredette to be featured on ESPN's Outside the Lines

BYU men's basketball great Jimmer Fredette, the 2011 Consensus National Player of the Year, will be featured on ESPN’s Outside the Lines Sunday morning at 9 a.m. EDT.

The Outside the Lines episode will chronicle Fredette’s journey from BYU to playing in China this past season. See a trailer for the episode below.

In China this season, Fredette starred for the Shanghai Sharks and was named the Chinese Basketball Association International Most Valuable Player. He was also an all-star and won the 3-point contest during the all-star festivities. Fredette led the league in scoring at 37.6 points per game and added 8.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 1.6 steals per game.

For the season, Fredette shot 52.9 percent from the field, 39.6 percent from 3 and 93.3 percent from the free-throw line. He also made a team-best 186 3-pointers. Fredette and the Sharks, owned by former NBA star Yao Ming, finished tied for second in the league with a record of 30-8. Shanghai was eliminated in the first round of the CBA playoffs.

The Youtube channel TheJimmerWatch chronicled Fredette's season with highlight pacakages for most of Shanghai's games.

Fredette played at BYU from 2007-11 and finished his career with 2,599 points (second all-time in BYU history) and made a program record 296 3-pointers. In 2010-11, Fredette led the nation in scoring at 28.9 points per game while guiding the Cougars to a program record 32 wins and a trip to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament.
