Head coach Dave Rose
“I felt like tonight the things that we really talked about, the things we watched on film sessions and the determination that we had all kind of showed tonight. We were much better defensively together and connected together.”
“[San Francisco] got discouraged. I thought Eric and Yoeli were really good protecting the basket and causing them to change shots that they missed.”
“I think that the guys found a better place to be in this game and hopefully the guys can build on that. Hopefully things stay the same and we don’t have something else as far as personnel is concerned that causes us to have to adjust again. I do think that these guys tonight made a real step forward for what we need to see and how we need to get better as far as February and March are concerned.”
Forward Yoeli Childs
"[San Francisco] is a very good team. They are young like we are too but they are really good. They shoot the ball really well so that was one of the things we tried to emphasize in running them off the 3-point line. I don’t know how many they shot, probably a lot. That’s what they do. We had to contest those shots and help out at the rim."
"I just wanted to be aggressive. The coaches have given me a lot of confidence the last few days. They told me keep shooting the ball. They said if you’re missing a bunch in a row go to the rim or pass it but if your shots are falling just keep being aggressive and we believe in you. That gave me a lot of confidence."
