Rose competing in Infiniti Coaches' Charity Challenge

PROVO, Utah – For the next 10 weeks, BYU basketball coach Dave Rose will compete with the nation's top coaches in the Infiniti Coaches’ Charity Challenge to raise money for the BYU Simmons Center for Cancer Research.

Competing coaches will be counting on their fan bases for votes to advance in the tournament-like competition. Fans can vote for their coach and his charity daily by visiting www.ESPN.com/Infiniti.

The coaches receiving the most votes will advance to the next round every three weeks and the top vote-getters will eventually gain a spot in the finals. The winning coach will receive $100,000 toward his charity. Fans can begin voting today.

The BYU Simmons Center for Cancer Research, an organization composed of distinguished professors in the fields of Chemical Engineering; Chemistry and Biochemistry; Health Sciences; Integrative Biology; Microbiology and Molecular Biology; Nutrition, Dietetics and Food Science; Physiology and Developmental Biology; and Statistics. These professors are some of the best noted and productive researchers in their respective departments. Every year the SCCR funds numerous cancer research fellowships, allowing students a chance to work with these prestigious researchers to study cancer and its mechanisms. About the Voting

  • Vote for one coach's charity per day (voting requires a free ESPN.com account). 
  • Round 1 voting runs from 1/2/2017 at 3:00PM ET - 1/22/2017 at 11:59AM ET. 
  • Round 2 voting runs from 1/23/2017 at 1:00PM ET - 2/12/2017 at 11:59AM ET. 
  • Round 3 voting runs from 2/13/2017 at 1:00PM ET – 2/26/2017 at 11:59AM ET. 
  • Final Four voting runs from 2/27/2017 at 1:00PM ET - 3/12/2017 at 11:59AM ET. 
  • Don’t forget to vote each day. 

Official Terms

Eligibility: To vote for a Coach/Designated Charity (defined below) during the Voting Period (also defined below) in The Infiniti Coaches Charity Challenge ("Challenge"), you must be a legal resident of the fifty (50) United States or the District of Columbia (each an "Eligible Voter") and eighteen (18) years of age or older as of 1/4/17. Employees, officers, directors, agents and representatives of ESPN Internet Ventures ("Sponsor") and each of its respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising/promotion/fulfillment agencies and anyone else connected with the production and distribution of this Challenge (hereafter, collectively "Released Parties") and their immediate families (spouse, parent, child, sibling and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and those living in their same household, whether or not related, are not eligible to vote. Challenge is void where prohibited by law. Challenge is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws. To participate, participant must be a member of ESPN.com or one of its family of sites (e.g., ABC.com, ABCNEWS.com, Disney Online, ESPN.com, Family.com). Registration is free. If participant is not a member, participant may register by clicking on the link as indicated on the Challenge promotional page and following the instructions. Participant will be asked to provide his or her name, complete address, email address, telephone number (area code included), birth date, gender and to select a password. Infiniti and ESPN do not condone voter fraud.

How To Vote: Between 3:00 PM Eastern Time ("ET") on 1/2/17 and 11:59 AM ET on 1/22/2017 ("Voting Period"), forty-eight (48) college basketball Coaches (each a "Coach" and collectively "Coaches") along with their designated charity (each a "Designated Charity" and collectively "Designated Charities") will be profiled on www.espn.com, keyword "Infiniti". To vote for a college basketball Coach and his Designated Charity visit www.espn.com, search for keyword "Infiniti", complete the ESPN.com member sign-in and follow the instructions provided to complete and submit the voting form. The voting will be determined by Sponsor in its sole and absolute discretion. There is a limit of one (1) vote per person, per e-mail address, per ESPN registrant, per day (24 hours from 12:00 AM EST) for the duration of the Voting Period. Additional votes received beyond the specified limit or votes generated by script, macro or other automated means or with the intent to affect the integrity of the voting process will be void. If a participant votes by accessing the ESPN mobile site, message and data rates may apply, depending on participant's individual wireless pricing plan, in accordance with his/her wireless customer agreement. The twenty-four (24) Coaches and their Designated Charities that receive the most votes during the Voting Period will be eligible for the Infiniti Coaches Charity Challenge Round 2 Voting Period.
