WCC road matchup with LMU on Saturday

BYU Game Notes

The Cougars hit the road for a West Coast Conference matchup with Loyola Marymount on Saturday at 1 p.m. PST in Gersten Pavilion. Saturday's game will be televised live on Spectrum SportsNet, Root Rocky Mountain and Root Northwest and broadcast live on the Cougar IMG Sports Network, 102.7 FM/1160 AM and BYU Radio – Sirius XM 143.

BYU Storylines

  • After opening WCC play with an 89-59 win over Santa Clara at home, BYU plays its first road game of league play on Saturday at LMU. Last season the Cougars swept the Lions, winning 91-80 in Los Angeles and 87-62 at home in the Marriott Center.
  • After struggling from downtown through the first nine games of the season, BYU has improved its 3-point shooting over the last five, shooting 44.7 percent and averaging 8.4 makes per game. The Cougars shot a season best 9 of 14 (64.3 percent) against Santa Clara.
  • Steve Beo has set a new career high in scoring in each of the last three games. He scored 6 points against Idaho State, 7 against CSU Bakersfield and 12 against Santa Clara.
