Season opens vs. Princeton in ESPN Tip-Off Marathon

BYU basketball will open the 2016-17 season by hosting Princeton Monday night at 8 p.m. MST in the Marriott Center. The Cougars are entering their 12th season under head coach Dave Rose, who has led BYU to 11-straight 20-win seasons and 11-straight postseason appearances.
Monday's game will be televised live on ESPN2 as part of the ESPN Tip-Off Marathon and broadcast live on the Cougar IMG Sports Network, 102.7 FM/1160 AM and BYU Radio – Sirius XM 143. Live video streaming will be available on WatchESPN.com.

The 2016-17 is BYU’s 12th under coach Dave Rose, the program’s all-time leader in winning percentage at 74.1. Rose is also second all-time in Cougar history with 283 career wins. He has led the Cougars to 11-straight 20-win seasons and 11-straight postseason appearances.

Monday’s game will be BYU’s third appearance in the ESPN Tip-Off Marathon. The Cougars defeated Stanford in Palo Alto 112-103 on Nov. 11, 2013 in their first appearance and lost 66-65 at Long Beach State on Nov. 16, 2015, last season. This will be BYU’s first home game in the Tip-Off Marathon.

Nick Emery, Kyle Davis and L.J. Rose were voted captains by their teammates. Emery was an All-WCC honoree in 2015-16, Davis started every game in 2015-16 and Rose is a senior transfer from Houston.
