PROVO, Utah – Seniors Kyle Davis and L.J. Rose and sophomore Nick Emery have been named team captains for the 2016-17 season, BYU basketball coach Dave Rose announced Monday.
“I’m looking forward to the leadership our captains can provide to our team,” Rose said. “These three guys were selected by the players, and bring a lot of experience and passion.”

The 6-foot-8 forward averaged 11.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.4 blocks and posted eight double-doubles in 2015-16. Davis earned Academic All-West Coast Conference and received Silver Honors on the WCC Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
L.J. Rose comes to BYU as a graduate transfer from Houston where he led the Cougars in assists as a sophomore and junior. During his sophomore season, Rose started 25 games while averaging 8.9 points and 5.5 assists. He finished that season ranked first in the American Athletic Conference and 29th in the nation in assists per game. Rose played in and started 19 games as a junior and averaged 9.8 points and 5.3 assists.
