BYU ranked 14th in the nation in attendance
2015-16 NCAA basketball attandance rankings
INDIANAPOLIS – The NCAA released the final attendance rankings for the 2015-16 season today and for the ninth-straight season BYU men’s basketball was ranked in the top-25 in average attendance.
The Cougars were ranked 14th in the nation and first in the West with an average of 14,699 during its 18-game home schedule. BYU has been the top-ranked team in the West for attendance for seven-straight seasons.
The Marriott Center was filled to capacity of 18,987 twice in 2015-16 season when the Cougars hosted Pepperdine and Gonzaga.
Since the Marriott Center opened for the 1971-72 season, BYU has ranked in the top-25 in the nation for attendance 41 times and in the top-35 all 45 seasons.
During the 2015-16 season, 32,382,283 fans came out to watch student-athletes in Divisions I, II and III, the 10th-highest attendance in NCAA history.
