BYU to battle Creighton in NIT quarterfinals

No. 2 seed BYU basketball will host its third-straight game in the National Invitational Tournament when it hosts No. 4 seed Creighton in the quarterfinals Tuesday at 7 p.m. MDT in the Marriott Center. The winner of BYU vs. Creighton will face the winner of No. 1 seed Valparaiso and No. 2 seed Saint Mary's in the semifinals in Madison Square Garden in New York.

Tuesday's game will be televised live on ESPN and broadcast live on the Cougar IMG Sports Network, FM 100.3 and BYU Radio – Sirius XM 143. Live video streaming will be available on WatchESPN.com.

BYU Storylines

• BYU is playing in the National Invitational Tournament for the 12th time in program history and third time under Dave Rose. BYU has advanced to the third round of the NIT for the 6th time. In 2013, the Cougars advanced to the semifinals at Madison Square Garden. BYU, a No. 3 seed in 2013, lost to Baylor in the semifinals.
• Seniors Chase Fischer and Kyle Collinsworth have led BYU to back-to-back wins to open the NIT. Fischer is averaging 25.5 points and 6.0 assists while Collinsworth is averaging near triple-double at 18.5 points, 8.0 rebounds and 11.0 assists.
• BYU has made a team record 315 3-pointers in 2015-16, surpassing the previous record of 312 set in 2010-11. Chase Fischer has made 105 3s, second most in team history, and Nick Emery has made 92, tied for fourth most.
