PROVO, Utah – BYU guards Kyle Collinsworth and Nick Emery have earned postseason honors from College Sports Madness as Collinsworth has been named to the All-High Major First Team and Emery the All-High Major Freshman of the Year.

Collinsworth, the 2016 West Coast Conference Player of the Year and a USBWA All-District VIII honoree, has posted averages of 15.2 points, 8.4 rebounds, 7.4 assists and 2.0 steals this season to lead the Cougars.

Ranked fifth in the country in assists, 35th in steals and 88th in rebounding, Collinsworth is one of only two players in the country – along with LSU’s Ben Simmons – ranked in the top 100 in all three categories. His 7.4 assists per game and 244 total assists are BYU single-season records.

The senior out of Provo, Utah, has posted the second most triple-doubles in a season in NCAA history with five this season, one behind the record-setting six he tallied in 2014-15. Collinsworth also owns the career record with 11 triple-doubles – five more than any other player in NCAA history.

Emery, who was named to the All-WCC Second Team, the All-WCC Freshman Team and the WCC All-Tournament Team, is averaging 16.2 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.4 steals. His 87 3-pointers are a BYU freshman record and he is second all-time among freshmen in points scored, points per game and steals and third in 20-point games.

On Feb. 11 at San Francisco, Emery set the BYU freshman record for points scored in a single game with 37. He also hit 10 3s to tie the BYU single-game record for most 3-pointers in a single game. Two nights later he scored 31 points to become the first Cougar freshman with back-to-back 30-point games.

Among all freshmen nationally, Emery is 14th in scoring, 6th in 3-point field goals per game and 28th in steals.
