BYU trailed inside of 1 minute to play for the 8th time this season, remaining winless on the year in that situation. Cougar teams under Coach Rose drop to 3-89 in that situation.
Pacific snapped a 17-game winning streak in the Marriott Center dating back to a 67-61 loss to Pepperdine on January 5, 2015. The Cougars drop to 11-1 this season at home.
BYU head coach Dave Rose
"Congratulations to Mike and his team. I thought they came in here and had a really good game plan."
On fighting BYU’s tempo:
"We talked about trying to control the tempo. I think in the first 10 minutes of the game, the tempo was in BYU’s pace, but for the last 20 it was in our pace. Our guys have been through so much this year. They are an unbelievably resilient group and I am so proud of them."
