Second half of WCC play starts with Pepperdine

BYU vs. Pepperdine Game Notes

BYU basketball begins the second half of WCC play Saturday when the Cougars host Pepperdine at 8 p.m. MST in the Marriott Center. BYU will be looking to protect its perfect home record of 9-0 and even the season series with the Waves. Pepperdine won the first game between the Cougars and Waves 71-65 last week in Malibu, California.

The game will be televised live on ESPN2 and broadcast live on the Cougar IMG Sports Network, KSL NewsRadio 102.7 FM/1160 AM and BYU Radio – Sirius XM 143. Live video streaming will be available on WatchESPN.com.

  • Jan. 25-31 is the Coaches vs. Cancer NABC Suits and Sneakers Awareness Week. BYU’s coaches will wear sneakers on Saturday to help increase cancer awareness and promote healthy living. The Cougars will also honor the late Lacey Holsworth, a Michigan State fan who passed away in April 2014 at age 8 after a bout with cancer. BYU will is one of several schools around the country that will #LaceUpForLacey this week by wearing gold laces to honor Lacey and raise awareness for pediatric cancer.
  • BYU’s bench had one of its better performances of the season Thursday against Loyola Marymount, combining for 30 points, 21 rebounds and 5 assists. Leading the way were Corbin Kaufusi, who shot 5 of 5 from the field for 12 points, and Jordan Chatman, who hit 4 of 5 for 8 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal.
