Collinsworth named to Naismith and Oscar Robertson watch lists

PROVO, Utah – BYU senior guard Kyle Collinsworth has been named to two more national player of the year watch lists – the 2016 Naismith Trophy Early Season Watch List and the Oscar Robertson Trophy Watch List. The 6-foot-6 point guard out of Provo, Utah, was named to the Wooden Award Preseason Top 50 in November and a Bob Cousy Award Watch List Finalist in October.

The Naismith Trophy watch list includes 50 players while the Oscar Robertson watch list includes 33 players.

Through five games this season, Collinsworth is averaging 15.6 points, 9.2 rebounds, 6.2 assists and 2.2 steals. Against Belmont, Collinsworth registered his seventh career triple-double with 26 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists to become the NCAA’s all-time triple-double leader.

Last season, Collinsworth set the NCAA single-season record with six  triple-doubles. He was named a Lute Olson All-American and AP Honorable Mention All-American while also earning first-team All-WCC and all-district honors.
