Davis named WCC Player of the Week
SAN BRUNO, Calif. – The West Coast Conference has named BYU junior forward Kyle Davis its men’s basketball Player of the Week for Nov. 16, 2015.
Davis made a splash in his debut with the Cougars, scoring 17 points on 6 of 12 shooting and adding 20 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and a steal to lead the Cougars to an 85-54 win against Utah Valley.
Davis’ 20 rebounds are the most ever by a BYU player in a season opener, breaking the record of 18 set by Kresimir Cosic in 1971 and 1972. Davis, who transferred from Utah State, led the Cougars to a 46-26 halftime lead with 11 points and 13 rebounds in the first half.
