Quotes from the Cougar IMG Sports Network

BYU head coach Dave Rose

"It was quite a game. It was really competitive. Guys on both sides battled. Our guys competed really hard and it was a real physical game. I felt like we were in pretty good shape with all the things that went wrong going into halftime. In the second half, Karnowski was really a factor to get them off to a nice little jump. Our guys responded and got the thing back to a single possession game. Then it was almost like we kind of wore down a little bit, but for all 40 minutes these guys fought really hard and competed well. Very similar to the way we've played the last month."

On Haws' foul trouble:

"It's really difficult without Anson (Winder), because he's a guy you can play at two or three different positions for us. I rolled the dice and put him (Haws) back in and played him. He goes into halftime with two fouls and we were within six. I felt good about that and felt we could come out and make a run in the second half."

Interior defense:

"There are some really tough mismatches in the way we play. As good as Wiltjer and Pangos were in the second half, they just pounded the ball. That's what they have that no one else in our league has. They have an easy way to get to the free throw line or get the ball on the rim. That really helps their consistency and it did tonight too."

Depth:

"We really competed well as a group all the way down the bench. We had Isaac hit a big shot. Ryan hit a big shot and Luke came in and got a rebound and a stick back. Their pace tonight was so different from the other night, they were racing that ball up the court and looking to attack us at every point. There was some frustration but it didn't stop us from battling. We fought to the end."
