Quotes from the Cougar IMG Sports Network

BYU head coach Dave Rose

"Our guys were good tonight. They deserved to win. They played hard, they competed hard. The second half we were just really, really together as a group. The one thing we're really pleased with is we've found a group of guys that has been able to compete consistently for a good little stretch here and it's paying off."

Record:

"Tyler was good early and made some big shots. When he hit the fourth basket to get his 8th point, I felt a little bit different. It was kind of weird, it came in the flow of the game, but I don't know if relief was the word. I felt good for him and that thing was over and let's go compete."

"It was great to watch guys step up at different points of the game. Tonight we had individuals come in and step up and say 'I've got this for a few minutes.' It just gave everybody a lot of life and lot of confidence and the ability to finish this thing off."

Halftime:

"Our energy was good but I thought we were a little soft at the point of attack. We weren't going to win this game if we kept playing soft. In the second half, we came out, hit some shots and got some momentum, but we were extremely aggressive. Our commitment was we were just going to play through it. We weren't going to be soft even if there were 30 fouls called. In order to do that you have to have guys who are all playing well. Everybody that we called on came in and gave us a lift of some sort."

Tyler Haws

"This one is huge especially this late in the season to get a road win. At times this didn't feel like a road game because we had so many BYU fans here and they were cheering really loud."

On the records:

"It hasn't really set in yet. I'm just so happy we came back and won the game. That locker room at half time wasn't very pretty. It was such a fun game to play in. I'm glad I got it over with quick. I got over the hump quick and was able to focus on winning the game."

"To break a record like that it's a pretty special thing. I owe all the credit to my coaches and my teammates. I just love being at BYU and it's a really cool feeling right now."

Getting it over with quickly:

"I didn't know the way the game was going to go. I told myself I was going to be aggressive and be on the attack from the start and take my opportunities when they came. I was able to get it in the rear view mirror pretty quick. I owe all the credit to my teammates for getting me the ball and this has been an unbelievable ride."

Fans:

"It was awesome. It felt like a home game. For a whole defensive possession everyone was on their feet and cheering really loud. It's a moment I'll never forget. There's a whole lot of hard work that goes into something like that. I'm sure it will hit me harder after the season. You're so invested in what the team is doing and just winning the game that you can't really sit back and appreciate how big of a thing like that is. There are so many good players that have come through here that it's special to have my name up there with those guys."

Comeback win:

"Any time you can come back on the road and get a win, it shows the fight and the heart that are in these guys. Everyone cares about this season and this program and we're not done. We want to finish the right way and keep winning games. We've got a big one on Friday."
