Quotes

BYU head coach Dave Rose

“I thought that was a great effort from our guys. I think we were dialed in on what we needed to do to be successful.”

“Rebounding is such a huge deal for us. I think we gave them 17 offensive rebounds at their place and tonight they got nine. That's a big number for us. We out rebounded them and that momentum led to quite a few transition baskets.”

“I thought defensively we were really good. Corbin gave us some really good minutes protecting the rim. Josh Sharp has really given us a lift the last two games. I think we found a little part of ourselves that can help us down the road.”

“That was a great crowd and a good atmosphere, and I think our guys responded to it really well.”

Chase Fischer

“It's good for any shooter to hit a couple at the beginning and get the team going. My teammates were finding me and we knew their defense, and where the shots would come from and we took advantage of that.”

“We all looked around at each other at halftime knowing that our trend has been to get a lead and then kind of relax. We knew we had a lot of game left and a lot to prove. We just wanted to come out and just play hard.”

Josh Sharp

“It felt really good. I've been waiting my time. Everyone stepped up tonight and that made the difference in the game.”

“We talked a lot about rebounding. We got out rebounded by 10 or 15 last time we played them. We out rebounded them tonight by 10 or 11 and I think that's the difference.”

“We knew we had to get the 50-50 balls to win and that's where our mindset was.”

Saint Mary’s head coach Randy Bennett

“They played well and we didn’t. I could break it down area by area, but the bottom line is that we didn’t have enough players play well and they played pretty well.”

“They didn’t help off our shooters tonight when Brad got the ball they would bring help from the baseline. Across the board we didn’t play well, this is a tough place to play against a good team. You have to have some guys play A-games and we had a couple F-games.”
