Quotes

BYU head coach Dave Rose

"We shot the ball a little better and rebounded the ball a little better tonight. This is a really good offensive rebounding team. It was really tough at times, but we were able to get some clean rebounds."

"I was really pleased with the first 10-12 minutes of the game. We have had issues with our starts. We got off to a good start tonight."

"I'm pleased with the win and look forward to Monday at practice to improve on things and go out on the road again. It will be quite a road trip."

"Every game in this league is a dogfight. Our margin for error is so slim, so narrow. We need to be really good in every area of the game that we have an advantage in."

On team assisting on 25 of 28 shots:

"I think it really shows the way we play when we're playing well. That's something that we're going to have to continue to get better at. We do have an advantage from the perimeter with Anson at the four. Not many guys come all the way out. He's a guy that's really skilled. He can pass it, shoot it, dribble it. So in some ways that is an advantage for us."

Skyler Halford

"We were just confident tonight. I think we just got back to driving and kicking and finding the open man. If it wasn't the first guy passing out it was the next pass. When we can get in a groove like that where we find open guys, we get in a rhythm and shots go down easier."

"We respect those guys. They play hard. They kept coming at us. It was a good challenge, a good test for us."

"Night in and night out in this league, you're going to have a battle. You're going to need to be ready for every single game. You can't think that games are going to come easy at any point. Coach Rose has been preaching to us that we just need to stay focused on the game at hand."

Tyler Haws

"This league is a crazy league. Teams come in fighting no matter what their record is. That's a good team and they didn't have their best player tonight. But, we're trying to be consistent and trying to keep improving."

LMU head coach Mike Dunlap

Overall thoughts on the game:

"What a crowd. A lot of momentum shifts throughout the game. I thought we played with guts and moxie. I thought it was a heck of a game for both teams."

On BYU's 3-point shooting:

"They're so good at running and finding the open three. They've got four guys who can shoot it. It makes it hard. We were chasing that for a lot of the game, and were finally able to slow it down a little in the second half."

On Chase Fischer's game:

"They were able to find him and he could knock down shots. He's done that against more than one team. Several of those shots kept them out of reach."
