Player Notes

Tyler Haws

Haws scored 32 points on 9 of 19 shooting and was 13 of 14 from the free-throw line. He added 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 blocks. He finished with season highs in points, blocks, rebounds, free throws made and free throw attempts. His 14 shots from the charity stripe also tied his career high.

Haws scored in double figures for the 54th-consecutive game. His 20-point game was the 53rd of his career. His 30-point game was the 11th of his career, passing Kresimir Cosic for fifth alone in career 30-point games. His 32 points are the most in a game this season by a West Coast Conference player.

Chase Fischer

Fischer finished with 7 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and a steal.

Kyle Collinsworth

Collinsworth finished the game with 9 points, a season-high 8 assists, a career-high 6 steals, 4 rebounds and a block. His six steals passed Ken Roberts for 16th on the career steals list at BYU.

Nate Austin

Austin finished with 7 points, 6 rebounds, a steal and an assist before fouling out with 1:37 left in regulation. His three offensive rebounds moved him into fourth on the career offensive rebound list passing Trent Plaisted.

Luke Worthington

Worthington started and played 20 minutes before fouling out at 4:24 left in the second half. Worthington finished with 3 points, all from the free-throw line, 3 rebounds and a steal.

Anson Winder

Winder tied his season-high in points with 18 on 7 of 9 shooting and a perfect 3 of 3 from behind the arc. He added a rebound in his 34 minutes off the bench.

Isaac Neilson

Neilson finished with 4 points, 3 rebounds and 2 blocks in 13 minutes.

Corbin Kaufusi

Kaufusi tallied 2 points, 4 rebounds and a block in 9 minutes.

Dalton Nixon

Nixon scored 3 points and grabbed a rebound in his 6 minutes on the floor.

Team Notes

The Cougars started Fischer, Haws, Collinsworth, Austin and Worthington for the third-straight game and fifth time this season. BYU is now 3-2 with those five starters.

BYU had two scorers in double figures in Haws and Winder. Austin led the team with 6 rebounds, Collinsworth led the team in assists (8) and steals (6), while Haws led the team in blocks with 3.

The Coguars shot 7 of 21 from 3-point range after setting the team record for made 3-pointers on Tuesday against Chaminade going 17 of 29.

It was the second time BYU was held below 90 points this season. Both games went to overtime and both have resulted in a loss for BYU.

A 7-0 run to take a three-point lead at 50-47 with 15:09 left in the second half was BYU's largest of the game. The Cougars added two 5-0 runs later in the second half, the first punctuated by a Winder 3-pointer to cut the lead to one at 62-61 and on the second Nixon tied the game at 66 with a 3-pointer of his own.

BYU is now 4-5 all-time in the Maui Invitational and finished this year's tournament in sixth place at 1-2.
