Haws, USA win second-straight game

KAZAN, Russia – Tyler Haws and Team USA defeated Germany 92-70 on Monday in Mira Sports Complex for a second-straight win and a spot in the 9th/10th place game.

Haws had his best first half of the tournament as he scored all six of his points on 2 of 3 shooting from the field and 2 of 2 shooting from the free throw line. His first bucket gave Team USA a 17-16 lead with 8 seconds to go in the first quarter.

In the second quarter Haws scored four-straight points in a 25-second span to extend his team to a double-digit lead at 32-22.

Haws finished the game with six points and three rebounds in 15 minutes of playing time.

Team USA will play for ninth place on Tuesday at 5 a.m. MT (3 p.m. in Kazan) in Basket Hall 2.
