Davies inks deal with the Clippers

PROVO, Utah – Former BYU forward Brandon Davies has signed a partially guaranteed one-year contract with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Davies will take the first step towards earning a spot on the Clippers’ 2013-14 roster when he competes in the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. The Summer League will be held July 12-22 at the Thomas & Mack Center and COX Pavilion on the campus on UNLV.

During his senior season, the Provo, Utah, native averaged 17.7 points and 8.0 rebounds while shooting .522 from the field. Davies registered season highs 33 points, 17 rebounds, eight assists, four blocks and four steals. He concluded his BYU career among the top 10 in career points, rebounds, blocks and steals.

Following BYU’s run to the NIT semifinals in Madison Square Garden, Davies registered a near double-double in the Reese’s All-Star Game with 12 points and nine rebounds. One week later, he led his team to the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament title and was named the MVP.
