PROVO, Utah - In the second day of fall camp, BYU players worked hard for a little under two hours in a practice showcasing Cougar running backs.

"The focus was still good. We got more done today than we did yesterday at a higher level I thought," head coach Bronco Mendenhall said. "So it was a good day."

After stretch and conditioning work, players moved into individual position groups. Practice continued in skelly work (7-on-7) before the team found itself doing additional conditioning drills.

Practiced ended with team segments where running backs got a lot of work. Freshman Jamaal Williams had a long run down the sidelines while sophomore Iona Pritchard had a physical run up the middle.

"Michael Alisa is coming back as the returning starter and no one has taken that away from him yet," Mendenhall said. "I am really impressed with Iona Pritchard. I really like David Foote and we have our fullback in Zed Mendenhall. Jamaal Williams looks good as a freshman and then there is Paul Lasike. I like our running backs."

Junior Daniel Sorensen highlighted the 11-on-11 session by picking off senior Riley Nelson. Freshman Taysom Hill showed off a nice play fake that resulted in a 10-yard completion to junior Richard Wilson. In the last play of practice, Nelson connected with junior Dallin Cutler for 15 yards. Senior James Lark and sophomore Ammon Olsen also took snaps during the team segments.

BYU continues fall camp Saturday morning.
