PROVO, Utah - Preparations for the 2012 BYU football season are officially underway with fall camp getting started this week, including the first fall practice later this afternoon. Fans will have an opportunity to get a look at the squad one week from today with a scrimmage open to the public on Thursday, Aug. 9 at 10:00 a.m. at LaVell Edwards Stadium.

Fans planning to attend the scrimmage will need to park in the lot west of the stadium and enter the stadium through the west gates. Only the west stands will be available for seating with the north, east and south stands needing to remain clear for construction purposes due to the new scoreboards.

The scrimmage is free to the public.

Cougar fans will also have the opportunity to meet the players at the Cougar Kickoff on Tuesday, Aug. 21 at 6 p.m. on Haws Field, located just west of the Indoor Practice Facility. Fans can take pictures and get autographs from players and athletes from several of BYU’s other teams as well. More information on the Cougar Kickoff will be available at BYUcougars.com as the event draws closer.
