Third Week of Spring Ball Begins
PROVO, Utah - As the BYU football team continued spring practice on Monday with a number of starters out due to injuries, the rest of the lineup went through a two-hour practice indoors.
"I've never seen anything like it" said BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall of the injuries. "Good thing is they'll all be back by fall."
In team play to close out the practice session, running back Michael Alisa took a few carries before a pass attempt was intercepted by safety Mike Hague.
Senior James Lark completed passes to junior Marcus Mathews and freshman Darin Tuttle on the next drive, finishing the day going 2 for 4 for 23 yards.
Defense kept the offense at bay, registering two sacks and a handful of incompletions, including one on a diving pass breakup by defensive back Jordan Johnson. Ian Dulan continued to regularly get deep in the backfield from his spot on the defensive line, a common occurance this spring.
