PROVO, Utah - Several of BYU's key backup players found plenty of work on a Thursday afternoon practice session during the second week of spring football.

After participating in numerous drills the team got together for the usual scrimmage portion of practice at the end of the day. Senior quarterback James Lark got the bulk of the work with a mix and match lineup of ones, twos and threes. Lark moved the football succesfully despite the pressure of linebacker Alani Fua getting into the backfield multiple times. Fua batted down a pass and had two sacks on the day.

After benefitting from some offsides penalties, Lark connected with wide receiver Cody Raymond over the middle of the field for a short six-yard gain and later Lark busted a run up the middle for 13 yards to get BYU into the blue zone. He found tight end Marcus Mathews for the only score of the day on a 17-yard strike to the back of the end zone. Lark finished 5 of 7 for 30 yards.

Sophomore quarterback Ammon Olsen got some snaps as well, completing all three of his attempts for 15 yards. Olsen also had an eight-yard scramble.

BYU will wrap up its second week of spring practices with a Friday practice before heading into the second half of spring camp.
