PROVO, Utah - The energy level remained high during a spirited second day of fall camp for the BYU football team on Monday.

Coaches and players alike were vocal throughout another three-hour practice. Position groups practiced together to begin the afternoon, but with more one-on-one drills than on Saturday.

Team segment was much shorter than it was two days ago, with quarterbacks Jake Heaps, Riley Nelson and James Lark each taking a possession.

After being whistled for two touch sacks, one by Seth Probert and another by Mike Muehlmann, Heaps found Rhen Brown across the middle for seven yards and a first down. The offense continued to move down the field with receptions from Cody Hoffman and Ross Apo along with a five-yard run by Bryan Kariya.

The drive ultimately finished with Justin Sorensen's 45-yard field goal that split the uprights.

"From this same time a year ago it's been night and day," said BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall of Heaps. "I've been impressed with how he's running the offense."

Lark went 5 for 5 on his drive for 36 yards, culminating in a seven-yard touchdown pass to Dallin Cutler.

"James Lark's doing a really nice job," Mendenhall said. "He came back in excellent, excellent shape and I've been impressed so far in two days. I'm not saying right now there will be any changes, but camp is long and he's done a nice job in two days."
