BYU, Hawai'i to Play on ESPN2
PROVO, Utah -- ESPN today announced the BYU vs. Hawai’i football game on Dec. 3, 2011 at Aloha Stadium will be televised nationally on ESPN2. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. HT (5:30 p.m. MT).
In addition, the two universities have signed a long-term contract that could include as many as nine additional football games through 2020. Details will be announced as future schedules are finalized.
BYU and Hawai’i have enjoyed a rivalry that dates back to Dec. 10, 1930, when the Rainbow Warriors defeated the Cougars 49-13 in Honolulu. Over the years the two universities have played 27 times, with BYU holding a 19-8 advantage. The last time the schools met, the Cougars won 35-32 in Provo on Sept. 6, 2002.
To date, ESPN has announced television plans for seven BYU football games on the 2011 schedule—four games on ESPN and three on ESPN2. Broadcast plans for BYU’s remaining games will be announced at a later date. Listed below are the games that have been scheduled thus far for broadcast.
