Brian Logan Signs with CFL's Edmonton Eskimos

PROVO, Utah -- Former BYU cornerback Brian Logan has signed a free agent contract with the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League.

The 5-foot-6, 190-pound native of Fremont, Calif., played two years at BYU after transferring from Foothill College in California. Logan started the 2009 and 2010 seasons at the field corner position where he contributed 21 pass breakups and five interceptions. A tremendous open-field tackler, Logan totaled 95 tackles, including 68 solo takedowns, during his 26 games as a Cougar.

Logan was a Sports Illustrated All-America honorable mention selection as a junior when he ranked second nationally in passes defended with 17. Logan received All-Mountain West Conference honorable mention both seasons in Provo, while being named to the Phil Steele All-MWC Second Team as a junior and Third Team as a senior.

Logan joins fellow Cougar teammate Jadon Wagner in going to the CFL. Wagner, a linebacker, was selected 44th overall in the CFL Draft on Sunday by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. The CFL preseason begins June 17.
