PROVO, Utah -- The BYU football team will conclude spring practices on Saturday with a Blue/White Game and Kids Clinic at LaVell Edwards Stadium. Fans are encouraged to attend and no admission will be charged.

The clinic begins at 11 a.m. and will be conducted by players on the team for schoolchildren up to the eighth grade. The Spring Game will follow at noon.

KSL Radio will carry the game live during a three-hour broadcast starting at 11 a.m. The broadcast will include numerous interviews, including extended conversations with BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall and offensive coordinator Brandon Doman. The radio broadcast can be heard on KSL Newsradio 102.7 FM or 1160 AM out of Salt Lake City or online at KSL.com.

The game will feature players and coaching staff divided into Blue and White teams for a running-clock contest consisting of four 12-minute quarters. The clock will stop during the final two minutes of the second and fourth quarters.

The Blue team will feature the first-team offense and the second-team defense while the White team will boast the first-team defense and second-team offense.

Tight end coach Lance Reynolds will serve as head coach of the Blue team and be assisted by secondary coach Nick Howell, running backs coach Joe DuPaix, receivers coach Ben Cahoon, graduate assistants Shaun Nua and Rob Morris and defensive intern Jason Walker.

Inside linebackers coach Paul Tidwell is the head coach of the White team. He is assisted by offensive coordinator Brandon Doman, offensive line coach Mark Weber, defensive line coach Steve Kaufusi, outside linebackers coach Kelly Poppinga and offensive intern Kelly Bills.

“I like this team," said BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall. "We are having a great spring that has been very competitive. I look forward to seeing how we compete against each other as we wrap up spring practices.”

The Blue/White Game will be the team’s final practice prior to opening fall camp in August in preparation for the program’s first year as a football independent with television partner ESPN.

The 2011 schedule includes opponents from the Southeastern Conference, Big 12, Pac-12, Conference USA, Western Athletic Conference, Mountain West Conference and Big Sky. The 12-game schedule kicks off at Ole Miss on Sept. 3 and concludes at Hawaii on Dec. 3.

Season tickets are now available through the Marriott Center Ticket Office (801-422-BYU1) or online at BYUtickets.com. Season ticket packages reflect the team’s seven-game home schedule in 2011, one more contest than last year, with season ticket package per-game prices staying the same as the 2010 season.
