Matt Reynolds Staying for Senior Season

PROVO -- BYU junior offensive lineman Matt Reynolds today announced he has decided to stay at BYU for his senior season and will not declare for the 2011 NFL Draft.

“I have decided to stay in school and not leave early for the NFL Draft,” Reynolds said. “I feel that staying for another year is best for me and my family. I’m excited to be part of the team again next season and finish my college career with my teammates.”

The 6-foot-6, 322-pound Provo, Utah, native is a two-time first-team All-Mountain West Conference left tackle. An Outland Trophy and Lombardi Award candidate in 2010, Reynolds was named to the College Football News All-Sophomore Team in 2009 after being selected to four different Freshman All-America teams in 2008.

A team captain in 2010, Reynolds has started all 39 games during his three seasons at BYU since coming out of Timpview High School as the Utah Gatorade Player of the Year and a three-time High School All-American.

“Matt is a tremendous football player and person,” BYU head coach Bronco Mendenhall said. “I fully support Matt in his decision to stay in school and finish out his eligibility. I look forward to his continued leadership in our program both on and off the field.”
