COLORADO SPRINGS -- BYU freshman Cody Hoffman and sophomore Brandon Ogletree were named Mountain West Conference Special Teams and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively, for their efforts in BYU's 25-20 win over Wyoming on Saturday.

The honors were the first for both players in their careers and first for BYU since Riley Stephenson was named Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance against Washington.

Ogletree registered career highs of five solo tackles and three tackles-for-loss at linebacker for the Cougars. The McKinney, Texas, product also tallied a pass breakup and a quarterback hurry against the Cowboys. Four of Ogletree's tackles helped BYU kept the Cowboys off the scoreboard on Wyoming's final drive of the game, with two takedowns on the drive being tackles-for-loss. Ogletree helped the Cougars hold Wyoming to just 173 yards of total offense and 63 yards rushing, both totals the fewest yards gained against BYU this season.

Hoffman tallied 104 kick return yards helping the Cougars establish field position from the start of the game by returning the opening kickoff 34 yards to the BYU 42-yard line. That return, which marked a career best for the Crescent City, Calif., native, led to a Cougar touchdown. He also gave BYU field position at the 39-yard line and 27-yard line on two other returns. In total, Hoffman averaged 26.0 yards on four kick returns. He finished the contest with a game-high 111 all-purpose yards.

TCU running back Ed Wesley and Utah quarterback Jordan Wynn were named MWC Co-Offensive Players of the Week.
