PROVO -- BYU quarterback Max Hall was named the Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Week Monday. He has earned the weekly league honor five times this season and on 10 occasions overall during his three-year career.

Hall (BYU), Joe Dale (Utah) and James Aho (New Mexico) received recognition for their play in games through Nov. 21. Dale garners the Defensive Player award and Aho receives Special Teams recognition.

A senior quarterback from Mesa, Ariz., Hall passed for a season-high 377 yards and season-best five touchdowns to lead No. 18 BYU to a 38-21 victory over Air Force. He completed 33-of-45 attempts to help the Cougars score 38 points against a Falcon squad that was surrendering only 13.3 points per game this season and ranked as the nation's top-rated pass defense (127.9 ypg) entering the contest.

Hall's performance broke his own MWC record with his eighth 300-yard passing game of the season. Last year Hall totaled seven such outings while equaling the MWC mark shared by former BYU quarterbacks John Beck and Kevin Feterik as well as Wyoming's Casey Bramlet.

Hall also became BYU's all-time leader in wins as a starting quarterback, passing Ty Detmer to earn his 30th career victory leading the Cougar attack.
