BYU Ranked No. 22 in BCS and National Polls

PROVO -- BYU re-entered the BCS Standings at No. 22 this week after its 52-0 road victory at Wyoming on Saturday.

With a 7-2 overall record and 4-1 mark in the Mountain West Conference, the Cougars also stand at No. 22 in the national polls, moving up three spots in this week's Associated Press Top 25, USA Today Coaches’ Poll and Harris Interactive Poll.

BYU has been among the nation's top-25 teams during 30 of the last 31 weeks dating back to November 2007. BYU is 155-46 when ranked in the Top 25 and has won 24 of its last 29 games as a ranked team, dating back to 2006.

The Cougars are one of three MWC programs in the top 25. TCU moved up to No. 4 in the BCS standings and also ranks fourth in the polls. Utah is ranked No. 16 in the BCS, AP and Harris while receiving a No. 14 ranking in the coaches' poll.

Florida, Alabama and Texas are the top three teams in the BCS Standings while the polls all have Texas ahead of Alabama at No. 2. TCU and Cincinnati are the consensus picks to round out the top five.

The highest ranked teams in the BCS Standings from each of the conferences include No. 1 Florida (SEC), No. 3 Texas (Big 12), No. 4 TCU (MWC), No. 5 Cincinnati (Big East), No. 6 Boise State (WAC), No. 7 Georgia Tech (ACC), No. 9 USC (Pac-10), No. 10 Iowa (Big Ten) and No. 15 Houston (Conference USA). The Mid-American and Sun Belt conferences and independents are not represented in the current BCS Standings.
