Unga Named MWC Offensive Player of the Week
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – BYU's Harvey Unga has been named the Mountain West Conference Offensive Player of the Week following his performance in the No. 18 Cougars' 59-21 win over UNLV. This marks his fourth career honor.
Unga tied a career-high with three touchdown runs on Saturday while rushing for a season-best 149 yards. The junior running back broke off long scoring dashes of 33 and 52 yards and also ran into the end zone from the 1-yard line. His 52-yard touchdown run is the longest by a BYU back since 2006. The Provo, Utah, native collected 114 of his yards and all three of his TDs in the first half to help the Cougars to a 24-7 lead at the break. Unga carried the ball 20 times for an average of 7.4 yards per carry while recording his third 100-yard rushing effort and second multi-touchdown game of the season.
Robert Johnson of Utah and Ross Evans and TCU garnered the defensive and special teams honors, respectively.
